AI Death Calculator? People are searching for their ‘death date’ with this creepy (fake) bot

There are so many viral AI chatbots that you can’t even trust one of them to be real anymore.

In December, a group of Danish researchers introduced life2vec, an AI chatbot that could theoretically predict when a person will die. The group’s findings were published. on a paper and the models have been explained in detail in a Frequently asked questions on the life2vec website.

Fundamentally, the life2vec chatbot not available to the publicprompting a wave of fake entities claiming to use it.

“We are aware of social media accounts and at least one fraudulent website claiming to be associated with the life2vec model,” the life2vec website states. “We are not affiliated with these or any other entity that claims to use our technology.”

This is a very good summary of what is wrong with the Internet today. Scientists created something that appears to have at least some real knowledge behind it. They cleverly kept it out of public reach. But then people made fake versions, and one of those misleading copies is currently above the real life2vec website in Google search results, causing life2vec to issue warnings about it.

And that is before You even come to understand how strange it is to ask an AI chatbot when you will die. Caramba.
